WHEN
Summer 2020
This past summer, I worked with a start-up, Poisera, as a product developer. Founded in November of 2019, Poisera supports women's mental health during pregnancy and postpartum by providing them with daily personalized lessons and practices to build their resilience and coping skills. I had the incredible opportunity of overseeing all digital aspects of the brand during this developmental period of the first Poisera product and app launch. After spending my previous summer immersed in a corporate work environment, I was so grateful to diversify my experience by working with a start-up. The culture allowed me to develop my leadership skills, foster my problem-solving abilities, and grow as a creative designer from the large amount of freedom I was entrusted with.
Poisera marketing & media banner I created.
MAIN RESPONSIBILTIES
Some of my contributions include:
-
The beginning of my time with Poisera was spent creating interview scripts, conducting informational interviews, coding interviews, and analyzing the finds to identify the target users of Poisera.
-
Next, using the interview findings, after many iterations, I established the brand's user personas, journey maps, and empathy diagrams.
-
After producing an SEO report based on Google Analytics data and writing a UX audit of the existing Poisera site and initial app design, I began wireframing product pages and creating A/B tests from the wireframes using Unbounce.
-
Usability testing came next. Recruiting participants, writing interview protocol and consent forms, along with conducting the tests, coding the results, and analyzing the data allowed me to make informed final decisions of the site's landing and product pages design, online conversion process, and app interface.
-
Finally, I spent the remainder of the internship creating marketing graphics and videos.
-
Overall, during my time with Poisera compared to the previous 6 months, there was a12% increase in traffic to the site and a 5% higher conversion rate.
Due to my NDA, I am unable to disclose any details about my projects. However, please feel free to contact me to hear more about what I learned fro this experience!
In total, this amazing experience gave me an in-depth knowledge of product design work and start-up culture. This opportunity further confirmed my passion for product development, the ability to work in diverse fields and environments, along with the opportunity to learn basic marketing skills.
